Teaching at Santiago Canyon College (SCC) has been a deeply fulfilling and rewarding experience for me, one that has allowed me to share my expertise, passion, and knowledge with students in the fields of Diamonds.
When I first started teaching at SCC, it was an opportunity to not only educate but also inspire a new generation of professionals in the industry. My role involved crafting and delivering courses that combined practical skills with theoretical knowledge, ensuring that students understood not just the “how” but also the “why” behind the practices and techniques used in the jewelry and gemology fields.
I was fortunate to work with a diverse group of students, from those just starting their journeys in the jewelry industry to seasoned professionals looking to expand their skills and deepen their understanding of gemology. Teaching at SCC allowed me to create an engaging and dynamic classroom environment where each student could thrive and take their passion for jewelry and gems to the next level.
One of the highlights of my teaching at SCC was seeing the students’ growth and development, as many went on to pursue successful careers in the jewelry industry and gemology. I always took great pride in knowing that I played a role in their journey, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to excel in the field.
It was not just about delivering a curriculum; it was about mentoring and guiding students, helping them build a foundation for their future careers. Whether it was through lectures, hands-on training, or one-on-one mentorship, my focus was always on empowering students to reach their full potential and succeed in the competitive and evolving world of jewelry and gemology.
The experience of teaching at SCC was more than just a professional achievement, it became a way for me to leave a lasting legacy, influencing future generations in an industry I have long been passionate about.
